C.S. Lewis’ insightful words remind us of an often-overlooked truth: each individual has eternal significance in God’s divine design.

“There are no ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal.” – C.S. Lewis

In our regular contacts, we may reject others as average. There are no mere mortals, for each soul is a part of God’s larger plans that extends beyond this earth. Understanding each individual’s eternal value changes how we interact with the world and make decisions.

While life on Earth is transient, the decisions we make have eternal consequences. The Bible says that God has implanted eternity in all men’s hearts, and this awareness motivates us to seek Him and follow His will. Every decision, every act of kindness or indifference contributes to a bigger eternal reality.

In the Kingdom of God, no one is inconsequential. The beggar on the street, the coworker, and the stranger we meet—each is someone God loves and calls us to help. Our love for others, particularly the least among us, reflects God’s heart and communicates to the world about His grace.

When we acknowledge the eternal significance of every life, we are able to live with more purpose and intention. Let us choose to live as agents of His Kingdom. We that our decisions today impact the eternal destiny of ourselves and those around us. Every life resonates into eternity and that we are called to love and serve as Christ has loved and served us.

When we embrace this truth, we begin to see every moment as an opportunity for lasting impact. Our actions—whether small or significant—carry the potential to create positive change and inspire others. By living with purpose and awareness, we become catalysts for progress, fostering a world of compassion and connection. Let us behold each other as God beholds us.
