Real Meaning of Esther

Easter is here and the world celebrates it with joy, gladness and lot of cheer. But do we truly understand the real meaning behind Easter? Many consider Easter as a festival filled with traditions including eggs, bunnies, and chocolates. But only a few who pause to reflect on what Easter actually stands for.

Over 2,000 years ago, in the small town of Bethlehem, Jesus Christ was born. He was the promised Messiah, the Son of God, fulfilling many ancient prophecies recorded in the Bible. Jesus took away the sins of the world and lived a sinless life. And though He knew no sin, He became sin for us so we could be made right with God.

Jesus lived for about thirty-three and a half years, showing unmatched compassion and love, teaching truth, healing the broken, and demonstrating the heart of God to a hurting world. Then came the cross and an innocent man condemned to die a criminal’s death. Jesus offered himself as a sacrifice on the cross. He endured excruciating pain, yet in His final breath, He offered forgiveness.

To many, it seemed like the end when Christ had died. Hope seemed lost. But God was not finished.

On the third day, Jesus rose again. This resurrection is the reason we celebrate Easter. The tomb that once held His body is now empty, and millions continue to witness and celebrate that miraculous truth. Jesus conquered death, proving He is not only Saviour but also Lord over life itself.

Easter is not about eggs, bunnies, or baskets of treats. It is about Christ’s sacrificial love, His triumph over death, and the gift of salvation that brings us eternal life. It’s a season that turns sorrow into joy, mourning into dancing, and hopelessness into lasting hope.

When life feels broken and when all seems lost, Easter reminds us that hope rises. The cross wasn’t the end. The empty tomb declared a new beginning.

So this Easter, let’s celebrate with true hearts, knowing that Jesus died for all humanity, carried our sins, and rose again so we would not perish, but live forever in Him. And let’s not keep this joy to ourselves but share the real meaning of Easter with our loved ones, and pass on the eternal hope that never fades.

He is Risen. He is Alive. Happy Easter!
