Small Beginnings matter

“A rose started off a bud, a bird started off an egg, and a forest started off a seed.”
― Matshona Dhliwayo

Every living creature inevitably begins its life small and grows later to a predestined limit. As tiny-tots, human beings start with baby steps, and then learn slowly to walk and run. In this earthly journey, people start many projects with big dreams, and some of them get outstanding results while others meet failure. While looking at or thinking of such life endeavours, we tend to ignore the sheer value of small beginnings.

A small mustard seed grows into a big tree, and this same cycle repeats till today, because this is the potentiality that the Creator has placed into every single thing in nature. In the same way, what others think about our beginning has nothing to do with our growth; what matters is the potential that God has placed within each one of us and our willingness to live it out to the fullest. The size of the origin cannot determine the final output. Dhirubhai Ambani, one of the wealthiest business tycoons of India, started his life with a meagre amount of money and worked in a fuel station. A lot of people tend to think that something has to start off with a bang in order to grow big; however, small things grow not because of the splendour of their start, but because of the big dreams and the God-given potential that drive them.

“Do not despise these small beginnings.”
Zechariah 4:10 – Bible
