CBSE Announces Exam Schedule for Class 10 and Class 12

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the official datesheet for Class 10th and 12th board exams, 2021 on Tuesday. They said in an official notice that the datesheet has been released “nearly three months before so that students can make their study plan and overcome the problems faced during the pandemic.”

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank tweeted saying, “Dear Students, hereby announcing the much-awaited date-sheet of CBSE board exams of X & XII. Please be assured that we have done our best to ensure that these exams go smoothly for you. Wish you good luck!”

The exams are to be held in offline mode from May 4th to June 10th, 2021. This year, nearly 30 lakh students will be appearing for the CBSE Board exam.

The exam for 12th will be conducted in two shifts- morning shift from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm and afternoon shift from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. According to CBSE, in the second shift, exams of the subjects which are not offered by the students of schools situated abroad will be held.

The timetables for CBSE 10th and 12th exam is available on the official website of the board which is cbse.nic.in. Following are the steps to view/download the timetables for the CBSE 10th and 12th exam:

Step 1: Visit the official website- cbse.nic.in
Step 2: Click on the link- ‘classes 10, 12 datesheets’
Step 3: Class 10/ 12 exam schedule will appear on the screen
Step 4: Download, take a print out for further reference.

According to the report, the admit cards are likely to be released in April. The syllabus has been reduced to 30 percent of the original one, and the paper will contain 33 percent of internal choice questions.

The exam scheduled in 2020 was of 45 days; however, this year, it is for 39 days.

The CBSE Board examinations will be held according to the COVID-19 protocols. All the students must wear masks compulsorily and social distance should be maintained strictly. The practical exams will be conducted in every school from March 1, 2021. The results will be announced by July 15, 2021.

“The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is restructuring the affiliation system for schools and making the process completely digital and based on data analytics with least human intervention”, the officials said. The new system will come into effect from March 1 and is restructured as per various recommendations for systemic reforms laid down in the new National Education Policy (NEP).
