“A day without laughter is a day wasted.”
Charlie Chaplin
Laughing is undoubtedly an infectious gesture which can instantly connect people. It also brings a lot of physical and mental health benefits. It is medically proven that laughter releases endorphins, chemicals produced by the body to relieve stress and pain, into the segment of the brain that is related directly to our emotions. According to some Norwegian studies, people with a strong sense of humour tend to live longer. Laughter acts on the inner lining of blood vessels which is known as endothelium and it causes the blood vessels to relax and expand increasing blood flow in the human body.
Laughter is one of the best stress-busters freely available to everyone. Presently, people practice laughter yoga in more than 65 countries through thousands of laughter clubs. Laughter therapy is also now being used experimentally to treat cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease and some kinds of neurological disorders. Laughter therapy workshops are conducted by certified laughter therapy instructors in order to carry out these experiments.
Laughter can completely change the atmosphere and create a positive vibe around us. It is not only beneficial for ourselves, but can also be a free and priceless gift we give to those around us. So don’t waste opportunities to laugh and spread laughter.
