Counting blessings over failures

Recently a video went viral online, in which a small guy sings, “Lord I thank you for sunshine, I thank you for rain… Thank you for Joy, Thank you for pain… It’s a beautiful day…”. This video is a great reminder of how our outlook towards life should be. We should be grateful daily for every little blessing which we often take for granted. When we start to count blessings in our lives, we soon realize how forgetful we are of them when we face problems in life.

“Counting your blessings is a better cure for insomnia than counting sheep – you can fall asleep before you get through half of them.”

DENSEY CLYNE

Most often we fail to realize that the failures are time and again blessings in disguise. We might not see the actual reason behind the same at first and start complaining. But when we start counting the many blessings in our lives, we realize that it is worth facing troubles with a smile. When we realize what we are already blessed with, we get a renewed purpose in life and the strength to face another day. The gratefulness in our lives will often become the driving force to keep us moving forward.

“The more we express our gratitude to God for our blessings, the more he will bring to our mind other blessings. The more we are aware of to be grateful for, the happier we become.”

EZRA TAFT BENSON

When problems happen in life, we must realize there is nothing we can do about it to change the past. What we can actually do is learn from those failures, act today and move ahead of past memories. The problems in our lives mould us to be better human beings. Many who have achieved success in life from humble or difficult backgrounds usually become bigger inspirations for people around them. Remember that in order for clay to become a masterpiece pot it has to go through a burning kiln. When we overcome failures, we develop empathy for others going through the same. And we also become a source of motivation to them. This new year, let’s develop a new positive habit, let’s count blessings before going to bed each night!!
